Thoroughbreds: RT finds Monday stakes races at Will Rogers Downs, Woodbine and Parx

All three races go off between 4:04 and 4:4:15 pm EDT

Monday Post-Nooner Threesome
The first three stakes of the day.

Will Rogers Downs Race 5
The More Than Even Stakes

$55K Race for Okie Bred Fillies and Mares 3yo+ going 8.5 Furlongs
1 – She’s Shiney (9/5) Kept looking for a way to beat this filly and came up blank. She has beaten older horses and has the fastest times by a large margin over this group. In her last race, Shiney smoked the field by fourteen lengths and today, she’ll get the lead from the jump and not look back.
5 – Socks (8/1) looking for a second-place finisher as the other front runners, namely the 4 – Spring Steen, is a sprinter and will not get the distance. Socks has followed a steady bounce pattern and this race will catch her on an upswing.
Will Rogers Downs Race 5 Bets:
1 - $50/w $100/p
$20 Exacta – 1/5

Parx Racing Race 8
The Parx Spring Oak Stakes

$74K Race for 3yo Fillies going 1 Mile and 70 Yards
6 – Afleet Destiny – (12/1) ran in the $300K Gazelle Stakes last out and was a non-factor, trainer Uriah St. Lewis is bringing her right back to a softer spot. Afleet is also getting a much needed cutback in distance which is more in her wheelhouse. In this nine horse field, seven of these are pure speed horses, which will set up this stretch flyer to score at a square price. In March, this granddaughter of Northern Afleet blew down the speed favoring stretch at Laurel in :25.94 and that’ll fit in this race as the favorites in this field are stretching out and going to fry each other.
9 – Avalina (5/2) after watching Kendrick Carmouche bring Seek And Destroy seemingly out of nowhere in the Soaring Softly Stakes this past Saturday at Belmont, I grew a newfound respect for the man. This may be a similar setup for him and it wouldn’t surprise to see this filly sniffing around the checkered flag.
Parx Racing Race 8 Bets:
6 - $50/w, $100/p
$5 Exacta Box 6-9

Woodbine Race 7
The Eclipse Stakes
$175K for 4yo+ going 8.5 Furlongs
3 – Souper Tapit (6/1) smart move for trainer Mark Casse. By getting him on the synthetic, after so much gate trouble the past two, the bouncing nature of the surface, will give him a friendly jump out of the gate. Son of Tapit has kept solid company of late tracing against the likes of Copper Bullet, Coal Front, Core beliefs and almost running down Exulting, who just won the $250K Oaklawn Mile a couple of weeks ago. His recent bullet work going 5f in 1:00 flat, is a sure sign of readiness and condition.
Woodbine Race 7 Bets:
3 - $100/w $200/p
