Thoroughbreds Tuesday: McMudder is back at Parx after two winners yesterday – and it’s not raining

2-Hail to the King gets dropped to his lowest level to date and draws a soft field. His breeding even favors the off going. No one else is close on paper but the exotics can still pay well since the rest of the field is fairly uniform. 1-Speed Syndrome, 3-Petulant Delight, and 7-Semi Excited all come from good operations and possess off track pedigrees. It’s hard to tell them apart so use them all and hope for the higher odds to come in on top. Let’s get adventurous and hope the 2 throws in a clunker (not uncommon for him).

Parx Race 5
3-Compound It is a suspect M/L favorite in a race with a lot of angles. 4-Vero Sun ran very well last out and lost to a horse that is well considered going forward. The speed fig was solid and the breeding fits the off track. 5-Bonda chased a very hot pace last time and showed that he may be better at two turns, his distance today. Not seeing this one on top but useful underneath. Same goes for 1-Creative Genius, a horse that should improve off his lone start. Excellent connections excel at the second lifetime start.

8-Easy River is bred to love the off going but that has not worked out so far in his career. Today that will all change as he sits the trip on the outside and powers home in the lane.

4-Afleet Tizzy is a really good mare. If she can work out a trip from the rail, the same post where she was most recently a winner, she should give her connections a nice photo to accompany the $40K she will get claimed for today. It doesn’t happen much but somebody will drop a $40K claim slip in this race and the 1 is the most logical purchase.
