$50 million venue to be home to Overwatch League franchise
If you can play it and you can wager on it, then Comcast Spectacor is betting you want to watch it.
In association with The Cordish Companies, Comcast Spectacor will be building a 3,500-seat “$50 million, next-generation esports and entertainment venue” next to Xfinity Live! In the South Philadelphia sports complex, according to a release.
Fusion Arena will be home to the the Philadelphia Fusion, the esports franchise that is one of 20 international teams currently competing in the Overwatch League. It will also be used for other programming and entertaining events.
They will break ground this summer with an opening expected for early 2021.
