Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia opening to begin this month
The debut will be just a month after the original target date, which was pushed back because of COVID-19-related delays.
Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, Philadelphia’s second legal casino—and the first with a hotel—will begin welcoming guests Jan. 19 with more than three weeks’ worth of reservations-required “Preview Days” for Live! Rewards Club members. The grand opening event is set for Feb. 11, with all plans subject to state approval.
The $700 million pleasure dome sits on the south side of Packer Avenue between 10th and Darien streets on the northern edge of the city’s stadium district. It will offer the over-21 crowd a full-service casino (including more than 2,100 machines, 150 tables and a 29-table, state-of-the-art poker room), a FanDuel-branded sports book and several bars. Dining outlets include Prime Rib, the steakhouse that had a 22-year-run inside the Warwick Hotel, the Southeast Asia-centric Luk Fu (pronounced “luck foo”), a taqueria and burger station both from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives star Guy Fieri, Morty’s Deli, a New York-style sandwich shop and quick-eats offerings from three Philly mainstays, Chinatown’s Sang Kee Peking Duck House, Termini Brothers Bakery and Lorenzo and Sons Pizza.
The 12-story hotel tower features 208 luxury rooms and suites. Reservations can be made by calling (267) 833-472-5483 (toll free) or at www.LiveCasinoHotelPhilly.com.
The entire facility boasts a number of protocols and state-of-the-art systems inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic that, Live! officials promise, will help keep guests safe.
“We are beyond excited to go ‘Live!’ in Philadelphia and bring this world-class gaming and entertainment destination to the heart of the Stadium District,” said Joe Billhimer, Executive Vice President, Cordish Gaming Group, the property’s developer and managing partner. “What we have created here is unrivaled anywhere in the country. Sports fans, foodies, gaming enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a night of fun and excitement only have to make one stop to experience it all.”
