Resorts Casino-Hotel sets a new bar for outdoor fun in Atlantic City with LandShark expansion

The $2 million adult playground called Fins Bar expands the casino’s Margaritaville-branded footprint

Atlantic City’s fun-in-the-sun scene added a new dimension Thursday morning as Resorts Casino-Hotel christened Fins Bar, an addition to its popular LandShark Bar & Grill ocean-side outpost.

Located along the Boardwalk opposite AyCee’s oldest legal casino, Fins Bar — named, of course, for “Fins,” the signature song by Margaritaville-brand co-founder/front-man Jimmy Buffett — boasts a 2,300-square-foot deck that includes a full-service bar and seating for 150. In addition to a new, but smaller-than-LandShark’s menu, Fins Bar, which will be open year-round, will present live music seven days a week.

Before being joined by execs from the casino and IMCMV Holdings, Margaritaville’s corporate parent, for a ceremonial ribbon cutting, Resorts President & CEO Mark Giannantonio bragged the new watering hole represents his gambling den’s continued belief in the future of Atlantic City.

“Not a lot of casinos in AC are spending $2 million on this kind of expansion,” he said.

While casino beach bars in Atlantic City date back more than 15 years, they have historically been ocean-focused. Fins Bar, on the other hand, is the first to look out on the Boardwalk, giving patrons a choice of vistas.

“You have a view of the ocean at LandShark, and a view of the Boardwalk with Fins Bar,” said Enrique Soto who, as GM of the flagship Margaritaville Café, oversees LandShark and Fins Bar, which is the first Margaritaville-owned outlet to use that name.
