The Wednesday Philly Props: Phillies, Diamondbacks, Zach Eflin, Rhys Hoskins

The gut says to bet a bunch of Overs on the Phillies game Wednesday, but that may be just my head still spinning from all the Overs we cashed in on the United States’ Women’s World Cup opener Tuesday.

Instead, we think we will settle on Zach Eflin’s strikeouts and shop around for a Rhys Hoskins parlay.

First off, the Diamondbacks have struck out nine or more times in exactly half of their 68 games this season, but just just once in their last five (8-4-7-9-6). Eflin has struck out six and seven in his last two home starts, so the 5.5 posted here is very doable.

On to the warming-into-red-hot Hoskins. He broke his 13-game homerless streak late in Monday’s loss (three hits, by the way) and added a couple of more safeties on Tuesday.

Now, we check three different New Jersey mobile apps most days when searching and pricing Props. We won’t say which is which, but we found three different odds on a Hoskins Homers/Phillies Win Parlay:

> +425;
> +370;
> +550.

It doesn’t take a Sheldon Cooper to see that there’s quite a difference, in fact a 50% better price on the +550 than the +370. Remember, you have no say in how a wager plays out on the field, but you often times have a little say in how it could pay out as a winner on the board.

You bettor shop around.

Pick: Zach Eflin Over 5.5 Strikeouts ($5/+125)
Parlay: Hoskins Homers/Phils Win ($5/+550)
