TUESDAY’S SINGLE DIGITS

>>> You know all about the Home Run Fiasco at Citizens Bank Park Monday, but we thought we’d add along another tidbit:

It is the first Phillies game since at least 1925 (and we would guess probably ever) in which both team’s shortstops homered in the first inning. Arizona’ Ketel Marte and Phillies’ Jean Segura did the honors.

The last MLB game to have both SS go yard in the first inning was April 10, 2012 (Yankees’ Derek Jeter, Orioles’ J.J. Hardy).

>>> And while we are on the subject, it was Segura’s fourth homer this season in the first inning. Only Granny Hamner (four) and Jimmy Rollins (51) had more as Phillies since 1925. Rollins’ career total (52) is tied for third in that time frame with Hanley Ramirez for first-stanza pops. Alex Rodriguez (71) and Jeter (69) lead the way.

>>> DeMarcus Cousins did not get off the bench for the Warriors in Game 5 until after Kevin Durant’s unfortunate re-injury, and while he is certainly not Durant, their combined line for the game is one most NBA players would gladly take . . .

In a combined 31:29 played: 9-13 FG (4-6 3FG), 3-6 FT, 8 Rebounds, 1 Assists, 25 Points, 1 Steal, 2 Blocked Shots.

>>> Two quick fourth-quarter notes out of Game 5 of the NBA Finals:

> There was one offensive rebound in the entire fourth quarter.
> For the second time in the series, the Raptors did not attempt a free throw in the fourth quarter.
