It took 11 innings for the Nationals to snap the Padres’ five-game winning streak Sunday. SD 1B Eric Hosmer was 6-for-12 in the series (and we just like saying “Eric Hosmer”). The Braves blew a 3-0 first-inning lead over the Rockies Sunday and then were saved by a Josh Donaldson three-run home run in eighth inning or else they’d be looking at a four-game losing streak . . . The first-place Twins are 8-4 at home, have won seven of 10 and are decided underdogs to the Astros? I know it’s the Astros (7-8 on the road BTW) and it is Justin Verlander, but it is a nice price to get on a good team. Verlander, by the way, has allowed a home run in each of his last six starts dating to last season . . . The Cardinals have just won seven out of eight at home and head to Washington where the Nationals just lost two out of three to the Padres. Nats LHP Patrick Corbin (2-0, 2.48) has throws 100+ pitches in three straight outings. Who does that these days? He’s toast . . . Royals home games are 11-3 O/U this season . . . The A’s have already have streaks this season of 7 straight Unders and 8 straight Overs. They are riding a 3-game Under run now and the Red Sox have been Under 8 of 13.
