The Wednesday Philly Props: Flyers

Sean Couturier

Sean Couturier leads the Flyers with 31 goals and they have six games left. I wonder if it would help him to know:

>>> Claude Giroux’s 34 goals last season was the most by a Flyers since Scott Hartnell had 37 in 2011-12;

>>> And that Hartnell’s 37 was the most since Jeff Carter rang the bell 46 times in 2008-09.

Suffice it to say, a few more tallies would look real good on the old resume.

Since Feb. 2, he has had goal-scoring streaks of four, two and three games. The team has not played in a couple of days and with the realistic pressure of battling for a playoff spot now gone, it might be time to pad the old stats.

The Maple Leafs, who come into the Well Fargo Center Wednesday, allowed six, five, six (to the Flyers) and six goals over a four-game stretch a few weeks back. They allowed five in a wild one with the Panthers Tuesday, so Couturier may not be the only Flyer adding to his stats Wednesday.
