The NCAAB Teaser ATS came home a winner today: Monmouth +19 against a depleted Penn team was one of those cases where the line didn’t know about a recent injury to star Quaker freshman Michael Wang. With C Max Rothschild already out, Coach Steve Donahue was forced to mix-and-match small lineups with bigs seeing extended action. It almost got Penn a W, but Monmouth (0-12, with some close losses) smelled blood and won it, 76-74 in overtime. Vanderbilt -23, as predicted, pummeled UNC-Asheville, 90-59. We thought it would be 95-55, so pretty close. Had the Penn-Monmouth game ended in regulation, it would have come in under 140. Vandy-Asheville easily beat the over 130.
It was a busy day in the NHL. Our Philly Props play went by the wayside, but in game action, we took the Devils over the Canucks. They won 4-0. We took the Islanders over the Sabres and the under 6. The Isles won 3-1. Next we had the Hurricanes over the Flyers. They also won 3-1. We had the Penguins winning at the Wild and they won 3-2. To wrap up the day, we had the Blues over the Rangers, but the Rangers prevailed 2-1. Still, that’s five out of six in games on the ice.
That’s good, because Mick McMudder’s horse racing picks ran as if they were running on ice. Let’s just move into 2019.
