Tonight’s MLB slate is loaded with matchups that give us some serious value on player props. Coming back from the All-Star break, we’re zoning in on some hitters riding hot streaks, and you’re not going to want to miss out on these props. These MLB player prop picks for July 18 feature 5 confident spots that are demanding your attention.
This number is too long for a guy seeing the ball this well and locked in like he is. Riley Greene has homered in back-to-back games before the break and now has 5 home runs in July alone. He's sitting on 24 homers for the season, slugging .510 with a .284 batting average. There’s a reason he was a starter in the ASG.
He faces Patrick Corbin, who’s been serving up meatballs all season. Corbin has allowed 14 home runs in 93.1 innings, and to everyone’s surprise, lefties are actually faring better than usual against him. Add in the fact that Greene has 78 RBIs and the fact that the ball’s flying in July, and this +450 price looks like a mistake by the bookmakers.
If you’re betting just one long shot today, make it Riley, and we’re pretty sure you’re going to cash.
It’s hard to look past Zach Neto’s consistency. He’s logged at least 1 single in 8 of his last 9 games, and he’s hitting .279 with a .492 SLG. Even when he doesn’t hit for power, he’s making contact and putting the ball in play and using his speed to beat out infield hits. He’s the kind of batter that pitchers fear.
He’ll face Jesus Luzardo, who’s solid, but not what we’d consider untouchable. Luzardo’s 1.41 WHIP tells us there will undoubtedly be runners on the bags, and Neto should get at least one good look. With the Angels still figuring out their rotation and likely to lean on offense, expect Neto to be active and swinging.
At nearly even money, this is a pretty sharp prop.
Manny Machado has been automatic in this spot. He is counting 7 RBIs in his last 8 road games vs NL teams under .500. The Nationals have lost 4 straight and are sending out Michael Soroka, who owns an absolutely dismal 5.35 ERA and has given up 39 runs in just 67.1 innings.
Machado leads the Padres in almost every major offensive category as he’s hitting .292 with 56 RBIs and 17 homers, and this is the kind of matchup where he usually comes through. San Diego is heavily favored, so he should get opportunities with men on base to get at least one across the plate.
Getting plus money on Machado in this matchup feels like a gift from the sportsbooks.
This price doesn’t line up with recent trends. Bo Bichette has homered in 3 of his last 4 games vs NL teams, and he’s back at Rogers Centre, where he’s batting a scorching .321 AVG with 10 dingers and a .355 OBP.
He faces Justin Verlander, who’s undoubtedly showing his age. Verlander has a 4.70 ERA this season, one of the worst of his career, and he’s giving up too much contact and looking beatable deep in counts. Bichette’s power has picked up, and he’s already got 12 dingers and 53 RBIs on the year.
He might not be the dominant power hitter like some others, but he's squaring up mistakes right now, and Verlander’s been offering plenty. Don't be surprised to see Bichette go yard tonight.
When the Mets are favored at home, Pete Alonso gets to work. He’s driven in at least 1 run in 4 straight games in that exact spot and gets a favorable matchup again here.
Nick Lodolo is decent but has a WHIP over 1.10 and has allowed 15 home runs in 106.2 innings. Alonso brings 77 RBIs, 21 home runs, and a strong .532 SLG into tonight’s matchup. The Mets are -160 favorites, so we’re expecting traffic on the bases and plenty of chances for Pete to do what Pete does best.
You want to back Alonso when he’s hot — and he’s heating up at the right time in the season. This is your chance to cash in on his bat.
These prop picks all line up around recent trends and matchup edges. We’ve got hitters in strong spots against struggling pitchers, plus some numbers that feel a little off from where they should be. Every one of these props has a solid path to hitting and getting on base, and there’s value across the board. This is the prime opportunity to load up your bet slip with some smoking hot player props.
