We have three plays today, in two consecutive races at Indiana Grand in Shelbyville, Indiana. We expect fast dirt and firm turf for both. Let’s go.
A full field of twelve goes to the gate in this state-bred allowance race on the grass. 6-Blonde Moment is a strong play: she spent the winter getting beat up in open company at Tampa Bay Downs, and returns from a layoff against Indiana-breds. We think she blows this field away, and will bet her to win at 5/2, and in the Daily Double comprising Races 7 and 8. The bets: Indiana Grand, Race 7, $40 to win on 6-Blonde Moment; $25 double, 6 (Blonde Moment) with 2 (Lonely Private).
This first-level allowance dirt sprint drew a field of eight after scratches. We like 2-Lonely Private. He ran some good races over the winter and spring at Churchill Downs and the Fair Grounds, efforts that were certainly good enough to beat this modest group, and while his last race was poor, we are willing to excuse it, as it was at a higher level than today, and he’s been gelded since that start. We think that he will run much, much better today as a result of this “ultimate equipment change,” and that means he’s headed to the winner’s circle for trainer Norm Casse. We will bet him to win at 7/2. The bet: Indiana Grand, Race 8, $30 to win on 2-Lonely Private.
That’s all for today. Until next time, enjoy the racing, be safe, and, as always, good luck at the windows.
