Broke even yesterday with a scratch and a place finish.
Today is Indiana Grand day.
Race 6: 4:40 pm EDT
$34.5k Allowance for fillies and mares 3yo+ NW3l going 1 mile and 1/16th
Utilizing SmartCap, #3 Cash Out (2/1) has best overall class and speed as well as best last and best race two back. I am not a buyer. Of his nineteen races, fourteen have been on turf and his dirt record Is 5:0-1-2 for $48K.
#1 Subiaco (9/2) is having a good campaign this year breaking her maiden three back, then winning a $61k allowance vs. NW2l before shipping to CD and dogging it. I am not a fan of Joe Talamo as he only seems to win routes being on the lead when he’s away from OP.
#7 Goodbye Earl (8/1) has our second best overall speed, class and second best last. She has had an abysmal year going 6:0-0-0 and unless there’s a dramatic turn of events, I am not counting her in.
#8 Razeena (4/1) Cox/Geroux 24% and of not for the last race, a stopover at CD, she would have excellent numbers. The gamble is whether she takes to Indy’s track and based on her last workout of :47.4, She’s poised for a big run. My pick.
Race 7: 5:08 pm EDT.
$25K Optional Claimer for Indy bred girls 3yo+ NWx, one mile on turf
#8 Private Beach (12/1) has best overall class and best race two back. Tried her hand for the first time on turf last out on June 20th, after a four month layoff; she led going into the turn and faded off. Second time out after the layoff and another shot at turf signals a clear shot. Her daddy, Malibu Moon, has sired many outstanding turf champs.
#6 Miss Mosaic (10/1) has second best overall speed, second best overall class and best last. She also has best last two cumulatively and is 2:0-0-0 on turf. Her recent numbers and her win was at Turfway, a synthetic surface. She showed jump in her last. Jockey change to Miguel Mena a positive – look for him to rate her just off the lead and give it hell in the stretch.
#1 Ginseng (3/1) has best overall speed and second best last. She has a 7:1-4-0 turf record for $60K and will be the speed. Only 16% of turf routes are won by the speed, so this may be one to put in your exotics.
#4 Miss Mercken (7/2) doesn’t have dazzling numbers based up company raced against, however, she has a strong jockey change to DeShawn Parker and will hit the board.
My pick - #6 Miss Mosaic
